Senior Python AI role

Foxley Talent are exclusively presenting this new role with a US LegalTech StartUp. They have new AI features as a growing part of the product, the small team are all senior developers, and they need another super experienced Python/Django Developer to own significant pieces of the system.

What you will be doing

  • Building and owning features across the Python/Django and DRF backend, from APIs through to ingestion pipelines
  • Designing systems and data models that stay fast and reliable as the platform scales
  • Shaping how the team applies LLMs to the work in ways that hold up to scrutiny
  • Working on the search and processing pipelines for incoming files
  • Reviewing code, mentoring others and steering architecture as a senior voice on a small team

The stack

  • Python with Django and DRF on the backend
  • PostgreSQL, with Redis and RQ for background work
  • OpenSearch for search at scale
  • AWS with Terraform for infrastructure as code
  • Docker in the day to day

What they are looking for

  • Several years of production Python and Django, with strong API design instincts
  • Comfortable making PostgreSQL perform at scale
  • Strong AWS background and fluent with Terraform
  • Comfortable with background jobs, search infrastructure and Docker in the wider stack
  • Bonus if you have shipped LLM features in production, worked on document processing or tuned search relevance

What is on offer

  • $150,000 to $175,000 depending on experience
  • Fully remote within the US or Canada
  • Monthly healthcare stipend (you arrange your own cover)
  • Senior voice on a small team, with real ownership over the platform
