Senior Django Backend Engineer

Foxley Talent are working with a leading digital innovation company who provide tools that help online creators produce and share their latest content. The main platform is used to share content with billions of people worldwide.

This company is currently searching for a fully remote Senior Software Engineer with experience in Django and Python. This Django Engineer will be joining the company's core team and will be expected to act as an experienced presence, taking decisions that improve the platform.

The successful Django Developer will primarily focus on backend development tasks, but having familiarity with front-end technology will be a bonus.

You can expect to be working on some of the following tasks:

• Backend development with Django and Python and sometimes some frontend tasks with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Upgrade and maintain core components including Django, Python, Redis, Celery, and their usage.
• Research and integrate new technologies into the tech stack for continuous improvement
• Continually improve the development environment, advocate for security and coding best practice.
• Conduct thorough code reviews.
• Optimise the Docker configuration for local and virtual testing environments.

To be successful in both your application and within this role, we are looking for the Senior Software Engineer to have a deep knowledge of programming fundamentals, in particular around algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and paradigms.

The Senior Software Engineer is expected to be;

• highly experienced with Django and understand its inner workings.
• Have proven experience in system design along with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
• Developed and shipped applications through Docker and are familiar with containers.
• Comfortable around cloud technologies like AWS, GCP, etc.
• Some DevOps knowledge, around setting up and managing Linux servers

The Annual Basic salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000.

The successful candidates offered base salary will be determined based on their job-related skills and suitability for the position including any relevant education/training/experience etc.
