Python Developer

15/05/2025

We are thrilled to be helping a new client as they build a brand new Python/Django team and bring all of their software development in-house.

Our client are in the medical devices and digital health field so for that reason they have relied on outsourcing their software development up to now. This is a great opportunity for developers that have the ambition to be involved in key decisions and direction of an engineering function from the beginning.

They are ideally looking for developers that are able to work in the Oxford office a couple of days per week to integrate with the team. Remote working is available once the team is in place and functioning. It is estimated this will be within 6 months.

The salaries on offer are between £55,000-£80,000, dependant on level of seniority.

Role and Responsibilities;

  • Collaborate with a small cross-functional team to design and implement digital health tools.
  • Develop and maintain both frontend and backend components of applications.
  • Utilise Docker for development and deployment workflows.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using test-driven development (TDD) practices, including unit, integration and end-to-end (E2E) tests.
  • Deploy applications to AWS cloud environments.

Key Skills Required;

  • Proficient in interpreting technical documentation and effectively communicating with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced Python programming skills with the ability to write production-quality code.
  • Proficient in Django, Django REST Framework, or similar Python web frameworks.
  • Experience with HTML and JavaScript in the context of Django templates.
  • Experience with database modelling and migrations.
  • Experience participating in code and peer reviews.

Desirable;

  • Knowledge of software development in regulated environments, particularly in the context of medical devices, or digital health technologies.
  • Experience with React, React Native or similar frontend frameworks.

THERE IS NO VISA SPONSORSHIP OR RELOCATION AVAILABLE WITH THIS POSITION, REMOTE WORKING AVAILABLE AFTER A PERIOD OF HYBRID WORK INITIALLY.
