Senior Full Stack Developer

Foxley Talent are partnering with an innovative and mission led scale up using technology to drive progress toward a low-carbon future. Our client develops cutting edge solutions in the Internet of Things (IoT) space, focusing on energy transparency and system optimisation at scale.

They’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with knowledge of Python/Django and Vue.js to join their Product & Engineering team and help build the software that interfaces with a large fleet of remotely managed hardware devices. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on real-world systems that directly contribute to reducing emissions and lowering energy costs for users across the UK.

About the Role

Our client’s platform processes over a billion data points every month from an advanced metering infrastructure, turning this into actionable insights that help operators improve performance and efficiency across energy networks.

You’ll be working as part of a 10 person product and engineering team on both the back and front ends of the platform. In addition to writing high quality, scalable code, you’ll participate in architecture discussions, peer reviews, and take ownership of key infrastructure components. You’ll also get hands on with live systems, helping to investigate and resolve production issues, an essential part of understanding how to build software that’s robust and easy to operate.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Contribute to the full product and service lifecycle from architectural design and specification through to release, operation, and maintenance.
• Build and maintain cloud based software applications that integrate with a large estate of remote IoT devices.
• Work closely with engineering leadership, product managers, and operations teams to deliver solutions that are scalable, reliable, and user centric.
• Take ownership of major components, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure strong development practices are followed.
• Participate in peer reviews to ensure code quality, readability, and maintainability.

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of professional experience as a full stack software engineer.
• Strong experience with: Vue.js, Python, JavaScript, SQL, and Linux environments.
• Experience with at least one Python web framework ideally Django or Flask.
• Familiarity with additional tools or frameworks is a bonus: React.js, NoSQL, Grafana, GitLab, AWS.
• Commercial experience working on cloud-based platforms used by real customers.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field is desirable
